Nature's economy

Observation:

The Watcher watches the world in grim thoughts, the economy is in it's drought.  Far into the deep lands of Africa, Namibia where the droughts are long.  The lion searches for water.  Traveling high and low.  There are hardly any trees rather long sticks protruding out of the ground in various shades of grey.  The lion crosses over dried carcasses, animals long dead from dehydration.  As her own body wears her down with the little hydration left she walks on head high, while under the scorching unrelenting sun.

Ahead she sees a small body of water.  The markings around it shows at one time it was a larger body of water.  It seemed close, yet far.  The closer the lion got the slower her body went.  Just a few feet from the exquisite liquid she collapsed.  Eyes barely open she panted while staring at her salvation.   A strong nudge on her back made her use strength better left reserved to see what predator would eat her.

Instead she saw one from her pack.  Their male leader had died first from the dehydration miles ago.  The rest collapsed along the way, she had thought to be the lone survivor.  She was nudged to the water one head push after another, she drank, her companion drank and soon she saw many more half crawl toward the water.  They lingered there for days, the water quickly evaporating, when there was nearly enough for one last drink from each, the skies opened and rain came down with a vengeance.  What was left of the pack ran around the water as it grew in a circle, a dance if you will, of the wild.  A celebration if you will, of the wild.

The watcher writes:

Humans as I often write can learn much from the animals of the wild.  They can not pack, jump a plane and travel to where water is more consistent.  They must learn to survive their bad times, their natural economical disasters.  They will band together and search for their water, they would move on while many around them die in travel.  They persevere where they can and even when left with little to no energy they nudge their own further.  Giving up is not an option.  Giving up is not allowed.  Celebrating is not planned, it is not politically correct or incorrect, it is just done.  In unison, as one thought, one pack, a shared victory.

The economy depends about as much on economists as the weather does on weather forecasters.
